An Abundant Life

Jesus said "I have come so that you may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). What does that mean to you - an abundant life? To me it means enjoying a fuller, richer life in all ways which means I have to make room for things to come into my life.

Too often we hold onto things that no longer serve us. As an example, take a look at your living space. Is it filled with clutter and things you don't use or need anymore? Next take a look at your life. Is it too filled with things that no longer serve you? Are you holding on to things from the past? Attitudes, feelings, relationships? All this demands mental, emotional, and/or physical energy.

To live the abundant life, we must make room for what we truly want in our lives and that means letting go of the things that hold us back. Jesus died so we can be free! Release those thoughts and negative attitudes from the past and begin living a life of freedom and abundance and watch God pour out his blessings on you!

The Battle is the Lord's

Feel like things are coming at you from all directions? Overwhelmed? Depressed possibly?

Fret not, for the battle is the Lord's. God is on your side. He promises he will never leave you or forsake you. Joshua 1:9 says "Be strong and very courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." This is God's promise to his children and God never breaks his promise.

When times are tough and you are going through the battles of life, remember to focus on who God is rather than your circumstances. Remember the situations and trials He has brought you through in the past. God is our mighty fortress and our strong tower. So take up the shield of faith and fight the good fight. Do what you can to help yourself, and let God do the rest, for He is mighty to save!

Write and share with me a battle you have been in and how the Lord brought you through it. To God be the glory!

Do You Know Who You Are?

Do you know who you are? Are you searching to find the "real you"? Is it in your job? Your clothes? Your figure or your car?

Do you realize that you are a child of the Most High? Have you received this truth deep into your soul?

Many people today do not know the love of God. The Bible says that "neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

No one can ever love you like your Heavenly Father loves you. If that doesn't make you secure, confident and bold, I don't know what will.

Today, know that you are the Lord's beloved - whatever your condition, situation, or status in life - GOD LOVES YOU!

Now go out there in the world, act like you are a child of the King, and show somebody God's love! Your reward will be great.

Let Go and Let God

Do you ever feel frustrated with life, people, and maybe even with yourself?

Being a single parent, I've had to take on a lot of responsibility. The load that normally is carried by two people, all fell on my shoulders, so I learned to take action.

Now I am learning a new lesson. Taking action isn't always the right thing to do. If I am frustrated , it usually means I am trying to make something happen when it is not God's timing.

When it comes to other people, I need to turn them over to God as well. I need to let Go and let God. Take a breath. Relax and trust that God will handle a particular situation or person in His own timing. It is a relief to know that God is faithful when we give our burdens to him. He doesn't want us to carry such heavy loads.

Jesus said "Come to me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

Today, will you let go and let God handle your frustrations?

Have a great rest of the week and remember, keep looking up!
