The One Thing You Need to Get Through Tough Times

Life is full of trials and tribulations. Some of them are brought on by our own choices and some are not.

So who or what do you turn to when life starts handing you lemons instead of lemonade? Your job? Your spouse? Yourself? Or..... someone bigger, stronger, and more powerful than you?

As for me, I choose to take my troubles to someone who can handle the weight of the world. I'm taking about the power of faith in God. God is real, despite what you may or may not believe. He believes in you, even if you don't believe in him. God is able to get you through every situation you encounter in this life. In fact, he allows situations to grow us up and make us stronger. You know that phrase "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

Faith in God is the only thing that can sustain us throught the trials of life: faith to believe that we will get through the tough times, faith to trust when the path before us is not clear, faith to have hope for a better tomorrow,  and, yes, even faith to be joyful in the midst of trials.

James 1:2 says "Count it all pure joy when you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." If we look at our trials this way, it helps ease the pain, yes?

So today, if you are going thru something, remember that Jesus is going thru it with you. He promises to always be with us. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. In other words, take action. What is it that God is calling you to do today? Get your finances in order? Confront a loved one? Stand firm in your boundaries? Stop fretting about things that are out of your control? Whatever it is, know that God is using the situation for your good and for His glory.
